GALLERY INFORMATION
The Way We Carry Light” is the second major presentation by House of Hues, founded by entrepreneur and global arts patron Jason Hughes. Based between Baton Rouge and Atlanta, Hughes has long supported arts and culture internationally. His philanthropic initiative, Project 70805—founded in 2016 to support community development in his hometown—has raised over $4.5 million to fund housing safety, education, and vital resources. A lifelong art collector and supporter of emerging artists, Hughes founded House of Hues in 2025 as a platform dedicated to investing in artist studios, amplifying new voices, and producing exhibitions that center cultural storytelling. The initiative’s inaugural exhibition, “JOURNEY 2 RMBR”—a solo presentation of paintings by Charles Middleton III—debuted in Atlanta with The Goat Farm earlier this year.
For Aqua Art Miami, Hughes partners with curator Johnathan Jamal Bailey, founder of TBG Interior Design and The Bailey Gallery. Known for his ability to merge art, architecture, and cultural narrative, Bailey approaches this exhibition as a spatial dialogue—a meditation on heritage and futurity, minimalism and depth, luxury and humanity. His practice, rooted in storytelling and material poetry, brings a new level of intention and emotional resonance to House of Hues’s Miami debut.
