Biography : janaeresume_art.pdf Exhibition : AQUA Art Miami 2018 Detailed Description : My dreamlike and surreal work is a fusion of personal experience and mythos. The women that populate my art are portraits of friends and strangers alike; muses and sirens alluding to true life events, mortality and the human condition. The resulting work is rich with timeless visual elements, moody atmospheres, and the romantic narrative subtext of a 19th century Symbolist expressed uniquely in the diverse international context of contemporary art.

    King Fish
Biography : Peterson Guerrier grew up in Miami, FL and attended Design and Architecture Senior High. Thereafter securing a Fine Arts degree from College of Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, MI. Peterson Guerrier is best known for his work with the concept of duality. Whether through his painting or his photography, he has always expertly portrayed the juxtaposition between different extremes. In his paintings, Peterson's layering technique along with his use of color brings his works to life. When different elements of the paintings emerge they create their own intriguing storyline left open to interpretation. Seeking a more individual painterly result, Peterson instills in his work a strong sense of energy and tension. He incorporates an idea of Einstein’s, “Every physical description revolves itself into a number of statements, each of which refers to the space-time coincidence of two events A and B.” In many of Peterson’s series, soft deposits of color saturate the surface and fuse into one another. His vivacious and instinctual approach captures recognizable imagery by transforming the layers of color thus animating the multiplying shapes and energetic drips. Peterson’s work has been commissioned by various high-profile companies in hospitality and advertising. His work has been installed in Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas and featured in Boutique Design magazine. He has shown in galleries across the country, including Snap Orlando!, The Grand Bohemian Gallery, Redefine Gallery, RGPL High Point market (NC) and X Contemporary Gallery at Art Basel, Miami. Peterson’s currently lives and works in Orlando, Florida. Exhibition : AQUA Art Miami 2018 Detailed Description : “Beauty is only the beginning of a conversation”. To consider every variant of the problem and every effect of the possibilities, I focus on the attributes of the computer, its ability to store, process and organize information, not on its efficiency or precision. An understanding of the computer’s core differentiates the machine from being a slave to being an alternate nervous system.

I make tangible that which would otherwise exist only in the mind; translating subconscious fears into concrete forms. The interwoven geometric forms present in my sculptures are images long held in my memory of a nightmare that visited me repeatedly in my childhood. In extracting these forms from their shadowy origins, I am able to bind them in the precarious confines of physical reality in which they have to contend with light, gravity and movement.

Gallery, Orlando 2014 Snap Attacks, Panelist, Moderater Exhibition : AQUA Art Miami 2018 Detailed Description : My body of work, Sculpturings, is a hybrid of small sculpture and wearable art cast in precious metals using the lost wax casting process. My methods involve a process called kitbashing, where I assemble wax and found burnable objects reminiscent of childhood toys, game pieces, organic materials, and imported miniatures to convey a narrative or story. Recycled objects and elements find their way into the mix and new life is breathed into discarded items that become precious metals, literally turning trash into treasure. Observing peoples’ habits helps me understand why my work is being created, what purpose my work serves, and what role my entire body of work plays in the mix of it all. Early on I discovered my rings offer extended experiences that spread beyond the wearer. When a piece is worn in public, it’s eye catching to others that come in contact with the wearer. A dialogue is sparked about the ring as an observer asks the wearer what the piece means. This opens a door to discussion about the message and narrative of the piece, encouraging an exchange of communication, opinions, and ideas between two people. This extended experience is powerful, effective, engaging, and is the main motivation behind my overall body of work. My work reflects our understanding of human ingenuity, behavior, and habits. While emphasis on functional design is present, sculptural form and substance of message takes priority, whether politically, allegorically, or satirically driven. Societal events, celebrations, and challenges evolve with each passing year, and my work sums up our modern world with layered narratives and fresh concepts. Each piece reflects the same stylistic approach within my body of work, and will be poised atop the engraved black base with armature. Each is shown with magnifying glasses and its own professional display which frames and finishes the ring in a gallery setting. A hand blown glass cloche dome, black acrylic base, and armature.
